Americans’ Three-fold Task for Self-Preservation
A Compilation of Authorities
Revealing The Truth
Of
Americans' Full Peril
And Defining Their Full Task
In The Present Crisis
J. EDGAR HOOVER, director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, United States Department of Justice, on October 24, 1939, warned:
“There has never before been the need that now exists to seek the truth and to recognize the facts as they are. . . The time has come to erect defensive walls to protect our homes and our body politic from the insidious and malignant germs of foreignisms and subversive forces of lawlessness. . .We must unite to resist the insidious propaganda designed to foment unrest and bring about the destruction of our national ideals.”
Again on May 3, 1940, Mr. Hoover further said:
“Vile and vicious forces are today seeking to tear our America asunder — killing freedom, ravishing justice, and destroying liberty in the name of transplanted totalitarianism.”
PRESIDENT FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT, on December 15, 1941, declared:
"The issue of our time, the issue of the war in which we are engaged, is the issue forced upon the decent, self-respecting peoples of the earth by the aggressive dogmas of this attempted revival of barbarism; this proposed return to tyranny; this effort to impose upon the peoples of the world doctrines of absolute obedience and of dictatorial rule, and of suppression of the truth and of the oppression of conscience, which free nations of the earth have long ago rejected."
THE FACTS OF OUR INTERNAL PERIL
MUST NOT BE SUPPRESSED.
